The supply

 

You will find a supermarket for all your needs on the street corner (approx. 200m from the house) of Geisbergstraße. The super market has fresh rolls in the morning. The bakery is down the street in the other direction of Prager Platz which provides for a quick breakfast. Just recently, a late supermarket with internet and fax service opened on another street corner that is 500 m away. 

 

ALDI and another bigger supermarket can be found at Prager Platz (1000m away), a chemist (similar to Boots) is on the corner of Lietzenburger Straße. There is a pharmacy, newsagent, dry cleaner 300 meters away, an Italian family restaurant is just opposite and a car rental place, internet café and Döner Kebap shop are next to the pharmacy about 600 m away. A fantastic camera and photo shop is in Welser Straße near Viktoria-Luise-Platz and a post office is in Geisbergstraße also close by. 

 

The wine bar "Gattas" basically next door  offers small homemade dishes, nice wines and readings by authors in the evenings. 

 

A lot of restaurants, shops and entertainment can be found at Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzien.

 

An Italian family restaurant is just opposite across the street and a very good sushi bar can be found close by in Bundesallee.

 

Numerous restaurants of other origin can be found at Viktoria-Luise-Platz (e.g. Greek), along Nürnberger Straße (Turkish, Thai) Fuggerstraße (Indian) and of course the fast food chains at Kurfürstendamm/Tauentzien - all in walking distance.

 

The top floor des KaDeWe, the famous "Feinschmeckeretage" gourmet floor with small food bars is also within walking distance.

 

 

We have brochures from restaurants in the apartment so you can order take away food if you wish.

 

 

Distances:

 

If you walk along Spichernstrasse it soon becomes Nürnberger Straße as soon as it hits Lietzenburger Straße. The next crossroad of Nürnberger Strasse is Tauentzienstraße. To walk to KaDeWe it takes ten minutes, if you continue for five more minutes along Nürnberger Straße you reach the Zoological Garden.

 

It takes five minutes to walk to U-Bahn-station Spichernstrasse (U3 and U9).

ALDI and another larger supermarket are located at Prager Platz, a chemist is on the corner of Lietzenburger Straße. A dry cleaner and a newsagent are on the corber of Regensburger Straße and you will find a late shop also very close by.

 

The wine shop Gattas almost next door offers a bit of local colour with home made baking and cooking as well as wine and readings on a friday night.

 

All other shops are located at Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzien, which is within easy walking distance.

 

A Persian restaurant is straight across from the building. A very good sushi restaurant is not very far away in Bundesallee, but there are numerous Italian, French, Thai and Vietnamese places not too far away.

 

Other restaurants of all nationalities are located at the pittoresque Viktoria-Luise-Platz as well as along Nürnberger Straße or Marburger Straße where you will find everything from Indian, Bubble Tea, Spanish and typical German food. All fast-food-restaurants and other food stores can be found at Kurfürstendamm/Tauentzien.

 

The top floor of the KaDeWe, the "Feinschmeckeretage" - Gourmet floor is a must for everyone and only ten minutes by foot away.

 

 

 

 

Distances:

 

If you are walking up Spichernstrasse it becomes Nürnberger Strasse which leads directly to the Tauentzien.To walk to KaDeWe it takes ten minutes. On Kurfürstendamm, in approximately the same distance you will find a Berlin Info store that provides answers to all your questions about Berlin that your hosts are unable to answer.

To walk to the Zoologiocal Garden takes ten to fiveteen minutes.

 

To walk to U-Bahnhof Spichernstrasse (U3 and U9) takes 5 minutes.
